Black smokey eyes are classic these days. To get the perfect black color, black base needs to be used, it is like the foundation for the makeup. If the black base is unavailable, then you may use black aqua liner but it must be in its dilute form. Starting off with the base, just take a small amount on your brush tip (it is preferable to take a fat brush with a flat tip – blending becomes easier). Once the base has been applied, it should be blended well with the brush – the resultant will be a black coat over the eye lid.
Apply matte black eye shadow over the eyelid – this will help in set the base properly and with give you darker affect for the smokey eyes. After this, highlighter needs to be applied, now this could be silver or white shade and it should be applied on the brow bone. By doing this, the eye gets enhanced. Always remember to play with more than one shade when applying an eye makeup, this will make your eye prominent and the makeup will simply look divine.
If some of the highlighter gets over the previously applied black shade; then do not get worried, it can be easily dusted off. For any unwanted powder, either on the eye lid or over the cheeks, simply use a thick clean brush and swipe it off, DO NOT TRY TO RUB IT OFF WITH YOUR FINGER TIPS IT WILL THEN SETTLE DOWN OVER THE SKIN and it will give a raccoon affect, with lots of black eye shadow underneath the eyes. For over the lids you may do the same or apply more matte black eye shadow.
You may apply silver or black with shimmer eye shadow over the black matte shade. This will simply create a shining factor for the eyes. Silver eye shadow or the highlighter can be applied below the lower lid’s lashes; this will lighten up the eyes. Also add in silver shade on the inner corner of the eye, this will make the eyes appear brighter and open. Eye liner should be applied in the end over the contour of the upper lid. You can extend the liner outwards making your eyes appear longer or you may just stop at the edge of the eye.
Eye lashes need to be coated with black mascara. You can apply more than one coat, to make them look thick and long or you may use fake eye lashes. Always apply mascara in a downward direction first, this will take away any powder over the lashes and will make it appear black, it should be followed by an upwards direction, to give its volume. Pencil kohl can be used in the end, on the waterline of the eye – this will add in a more intense effect on the makeup. Also be sure to keep the lips light when going heavy on the eyes, it will simply balance out everything!
