How To

Blue Eyeshadow with Brown Eyes

how to wear blue eyeshadow with brown eyesBlue eye shadow is the trickiest to wear, if you do not have good skills in eye makeup then it will be a better option to practice on other color palettes, as it is essential to blend in all the colors. If you are unable to do that, then you can easily resemble a clown after application of this particular color  eye shadow. This is the reason many of us do not go for this palette, as we have this stereotypical image of humor attached to it.

It is necessary to work with three colors, be it any color palette – then only you will be able to create depth for those eyes. These three colors will range from the lightest tone to the medium tone to the darkest tone. Smoky blue eye shadow is the sexiest to wear – try selecting sky blue for the lightest shade, dodger’s blue for the middle tone and midnight blue for the darkest tone. Normally blue palette does not work for green eyes, both the colors do not sync together – they just counter each other strongly, however, blue palette works really well with brown, blue, hazel eyes.

The combination of brown and blue go really well – both a natural colors, brown being an earthy tone, works fine with blue. Start off your eye makeup with a good primer, this is a color less base which makes the eye shadow stay for really long time, without creasing. After this, apply the lightest shade which is sky blue, you can go for any other shade but remember it needs to be the lightest. Apply this shade, starting from the contour of the upper eye lash till the brow bone. This will give in a uniform color to work with.

After this apply the medium tone which is the dodger’s blue, again you can pick color according to your choice, but again it needs to be the medium shade of the palette. Apply this starting from the upper lash contour till the crease line. The last color will be midnight blue, start applying this from the outer edge of the eye and slowly bring the color inwards, without picking up more color on the applicator. This will create depth to those eyes. You may also apply the darkest color, over the contours of the upper lash and blend it upwards.

Finish off the makeup with applying thick coats of mascara, first apply it downwards and then apply it upwards. For great results, first curl the lashes with help of eye lash curler and then apply 2 to 3 coats of mascara, also you must wait a fraction amount of time so that the mascara coat dries, before you apply a fresh one. You can apply eyeliner to further enhance the makeup. Always extend the eye liner away from the eye; it will make the eye appear longer. Also, when applying the eyeliner on the lower lash contour, always apply it three quarters of the eye, starting from the outer edge and on the inner eye you can apply an extremely light color – can be the color used for highlighting the brow bone, silver is a very good option or you could use beige or cream. This will make your eyes appear open and bright – this is a very useful tip for small eyes, applying an extremely light color on the inner edge of the eye will enhance the eyes and will make it appear larger than what they are.
